With excellent facilities on offer at the Matale Stadium, and a host of welcoming players eager to take on your team, it’s hard to believe that Sri Lanka is a mere fledgling on the hockey field.

But what they lack in experience as a hockey playing nation, they certainly make up for in enthusiasm.

Our specialist sports division arranges a tailor-made tour directly from Colombo, bringing you the expertise and value-for-money deals that come from being part of one of Sri Lanka’s largest tailor-made holiday companies.

It has to be said that artificial pitches are in short supply. Sri Lanka has just two – in Matale and Colombo – and apart from that hockey is played as enthusiastically as ever on grass surfaces.

That does not affect the enduring popularity of school hockey with more than 100 schools focusing on it as a sporting priority.

There is so much to enjoy in the island with a little bit of everything: gorgeous tropical beaches, game parks, ruined cities, the stirring mountains of the hill country, and the lovable capital of Colombo.

If you are interested in a tailor-made hockey tour to Sri Lanka, trust Red Dot Sports to make it extra special.
